By helping team members understand their default approach to conflict, it empowers them to select an approach based on the situation and their skill rather than just their habit.
The good news is that it’s very easy for teams to use!
Conflict in a team is unavoidable (and expensive); some estimates say that employees can spend as much as 3 hours a week dealing with the issues it generates. The powerful TKI tool can minimise these negative issues and even change them into positive outcomes for your team.
Following this TKI workshop, conflict will become more constructive and value adding, producing more effective working relationships between colleagues AND better results.
By quickly identifying a conflict resolution style and learning how and when to use each of the styles – not just relying on the one that comes naturally to them, conflict can be re-framed and defused producing more productive outcomes, a happier and more productive working environment.
Following an initial 15-minute online survey, individuals receive a report on their typical uses of the five ‘conflict handling modes’:
The TKI measures preferences for five different styles of handling conflict, called conflict modes, which are described along two dimensions: assertiveness, or the extent to which a person tries to satisfy their own concerns; and cooperativeness, or the extent to which they try to satisfy the concerns of another person.
Thank you for yesterday, it was lovely to meet you both, and it was a great day. Lots of positive feedback and I think we really took a lot away, especially from the MBTI. We’re currently trying to find a space to hang our artistic masterpiece!
