Scrapheap Challenge Team Building

Raid our scrapheap to build a high performance machine in our Scrapheap Challenge outdoor team building activity. It’s the ultimate test in teamwork, innovation and creativity.

Competing against the clock, teams salvage materials from our scrapheap to create a giant catapult. This challenge requires great team work, problem solving and project planning skills. This event is suitable for everyone from sales and product teams through to senior management.

How Does Scrapheap Challenge Team Building Work?

We’ll kick off by welcoming your group to their team building event and explaining how the day will unfold. Then, we’ll get everyone into their teams to face several rounds of 30 minute team challenges!

Building a marble run out of plumber’s tubing or constructing a huge, free standing tower are just some of the ‘warm up’ construction theme tasks teams must undertake to earn the credits to buy vital resources from our Junkyard Shop.

With multiple sets of equipment, everyone will have a chance to play every game with their team. And the better you do, the more fun money you’ll have to “spend” on gadgets for your scrapheap creation!

Next, each team will receive a design brief and a set of basic materials. Your challenge will be to build a catapult out of your scrap.

At last, a nail-biting finish as teams go head to head to see how well their machines perform! Will your machine hold up under the pressure? Will you?! The team whose machine outperforms the rest are crowned the junkyard champions!

Scrapheap Challenge Team Building Outcomes

Interactive and highly engaging, our Scrapheap Challenge team building event is a great way to improve team performance. Because teams have to plan their project, communicate and solve problems together, it’s ideal for boosting workforce capabilities in these areas.

Junkyard challenge team building can be moulded to suit you. Make it longer for standalone team building or shorter to form part of a larger event. Use it to highlight the dangers of silo working or to build project management skills. You can even opt for an indoor version with our related Catapult Mania team building event.

Simply let us know what you need and we’ll design the event around you, using our unique 5 step team building process.

Many thanks to Neil and Ruth for leading our virtual team building exercise... Many laughs were had while scrambling to collect the twenty items...!!! The Murder Mystery was my favourite and my team winning was the icing on the cake. The Haka showed how uncoordinated we are but the laughs ...just proves what an enjoyable experience we all had.
